Regulator publishes discussion document for review of its Code of Practice

27 February 2020

Code review is the most comprehensive in a decade.

19 March 2020 update:

In light of the ongoing situation with Covid-19, we are extending the deadline to 02 July 2020.

The Phone-paid Services Authority (PSA) has today published the discussion document for its Code of Practice review. This is the first opportunity for stakeholders to provide input into the most comprehensive review of the PSA’s regulatory framework in ten years.

The discussion document provides an overview of the review and includes a summary of:

  • the review’s objectives and scope
  • an assessment of the market and consumers’ behaviours, experiences and expectations
  • the PSA’s proposed assessment framework
  • the PSA’s early thinking on its future regulatory strategy.

The purpose of this document is to seek early input from stakeholders to support Code development, before the PSA undertakes a formal consultation process later in the year. The PSA welcomes all views and will carefully consider all responses and other input it receives.
