OFCOM PUBLISHES PROPOSALS FOR ACTION ON INTERNET DIALLERS

20 November 2005

Ofcom has published proposals to increase consumer protection against rogue diallers. Existing premium rate services regulation applies to diallers using 09 premium rate or international numbers.

Ofcom is proposing to extend these requirements to enable icstis to take action against any rogue dialler irrespective of the telephone number used or the call charges involved. Please see Ofcom's summary of proposals and full consultation document (closes 22 December) for further details.
