Regulator fines Moblix Media Limited £900,000 after it charged consumers without consent

The Phone-paid Services Authority (PSA) has fined and banned Moblix Media Limited from the market after investigating its subscription alerts service which provided consumers with voucher codes and discount offers for retail stores. The PSA received 311 complaints from consumers who said they were charged without consent or were overcharged.

The Tribunal formally reprimanded Moblix, fined it £900,000 and banned it from the market for five years. It also ordered Moblix to refund any consumers who claim a refund.
