Summary | Heidi Corkhill trading as Call Support (“the Applicant”) was the subject of an investigation by the Phone-Paid Service Authority (“PSA”) for providing an Information, Connection and Signposting Service (“ICSS”) to UK consumers (“the Service”). The concerns regarding the Service were first highlighted to the PSA by way of a complaint received on 4 March 2020. By 2 April 2022 the PSA had received 161 complaints about the Service. The nature of the complaints received were that consumers were misled into using the Service, that they were not made aware of the costs of the Service, and that they were unaware that it was a premium rate call connection service, as well as expressing concerns regarding the customer service they had received when trying to raise complaints about the Service. On 28 February 2023 the Tribunal considered the case brought by the PSA against Heidi Corkhill trading as Call Support, found it to be very serious and imposed sanctions. On 26 January 2024, the Applicant sought a review of the Tribunal’s Decision of 28 February 2023. The Tribunal decided the matter should proceed as an oral hearing. The matter was therefore adjourned for the oral hearing to take place, which would provide all parties with an opportunity to provide oral evidence, and, the Applicant with a further opportunity to attend and provide oral evidence to the Tribunal, explaining and clarifying on the matters alleged within her witness statement. |
